Monica’s work explores ideas of uncertainty and adaptation and her imagined landscapes sit between nostalgia and unease. Skies and trees are ongoing themes in her work. Skies are about transience while trees tell a story of steady resilience.

Forces interest me, whether it’s the force of a landscape, the wind, the light. I'm also interested in our cognitive dissonance with nature, how we Disnify it, herald it, yet at the same time destroy it. Colour is non naturalistic in my work, brushstrokes are fast and fluid.

Jessie Woodward is an abstract painter and mixed media Artist, based in Bristol.

Jessie’s instinctive way of working explores the language of paint and mark making to evoke emotions in the viewer, aiming to communicate how pure abstract work can generate visual energetic joy and pleasure.

When I am drawing from life or mind I am not necessarily seeing the figure as a figure, I see the shapes formed by a pose or movement and the ethereal play with shadow and light and a feeling I want to portray in the final piece.
