Imranovi (b.1990s) is a Syrian artist living in exile. He fled his country following the outbreak of conflict to avoid conscription into Bashar Al Assad's army. Imranovi binds ordinary everyday objects to tragedy across his oeuvre, such as 'Merry Christmas' (2013), depicting a UN emergency refugee tent within a snow globe. 'I have learnt in the process of making art and observing other artists that simplicity is ultimately the most effective means of approaching any topic’ he adds. Solo exhibitions include, ‘Modern Face of Syria’, staged by Art Represent in London.
