"I often use photographs to inspire my ‘Portraits’ and this image of the stylish Paloma Faith was the first of the series. I picked colours that conjured up her golden hair swept up into a high bouffant, and tried to capture her subtle flirtatious smile. The second lady I chose was Emeli Sande, two singers with a distinctive style, followed by the gorgeous Audrey Hepburn, Amy Winehouse, Liza Minnelli, and perhaps a surprise addition, Nelson Mandela. I’ve enjoyed working on the pertinent features that make these icons so instantly recognisable, with more to follow soon."
Having trained at the Royal Academy of Music, Esbe worked as a classical musician until a rare RSI diverted her path to a dual career in art. Inspired and influenced by her uncle, a graphic designer/illustrator for the film industry, she held her first solo art exhibition in 2014.
