Notes
Henry’s work is a candid look at his relationship with his life experiences. Torn and cut canvas demonstrates a desire to break from the norm whilst the structure in his pieces shows a longing to conform. This juxtaposition forms the base of his work past and present and something he continues to confront through art. Colours are substituted by textures, layering, paint effects and allowed space. This abstinence grants capacity for people to breath with and consider his work. Epitomising the recent lockdown pace of life, Henry’s paintings are calm moments, a much-needed breather letting the world careen back to life.
