Notes

"This painting is the view from my kitchen window that I have revisited a number of times, on this occasion in a very fast and gestural application of paint attempting to catch the fleeting moments of a sun setting sky.

In my current work I explore experience and memory through the act of drawing and painting. I use the material qualities of paint to investigate why a particular place, image or memory has meaning for me, and what that meaning might be.” - Joshua Armitage, 2021
