Sam Collins's photography explores social identity through bold use of colour, light and humour.
"This whimsical work was shot in Kilkenny, a popular tourist town in Ireland that beyond the more sober appeal of its famous Castle and Cathedral is increasingly synonymous with Gaelic sports, horse racing and stag and hen parties. Here, while the revellers sleep off their Friday night hangovers, an elderly couple take refuge over lunch in a quiet corner of a pub. But there is no escape from identity."
