Notes
"I am always intrigued by caravans especially those found tucked away, through a hedge, as they indicate the marginal, the off grid. They are probably used for very practical reasons as a store or as a shepherd’s hut but I think of them as a retreat, an escape from the rat-race."
Patricia Thornton is a figurative painting and printmaker living and working in Sussex. Emotional tension or the 'unspoken agenda' is often the subject of her work whether in the human figure or a physical place. Leaving the content of her work purposefully ambiguous, Patricia allows the viewer to complete the narrative of her pictures.
