Notes
An abstract landscape inspired by Gerhard Richter and JMW Turner.
Painted in Adrienne's Wimbledon studio at the beginning of Spring "to encourage its arrival", the land and sky seamlessly meet in this work to create an overlapping ethereal landscape. Of her work, Adrienne Byrne says "I like to remove the lines and edges ... there is a potential for limitlessness".
Adrienne is deeply touched by the landscapes she visits. "I am fascinated by the sky, by the constant change and energy of movement. Below the ethereal sky the land is so important for its grounding, familiar qualities." Colour is a driving force on Adrienne's work; it shapes the painting with hues, tones and intensity. She applies paint in thin layers for a transparent quality and depth of colour.
