Notes
An early morning expedition to find mountain gorillas in the 'impenetrable' rainforest of Bwindi, Uganda, inspired Diana Palmer to capture in acrylic and oil this lush landscape bathed in dawn light.
The dense forest crowds the picture plane with only tiny darts of light flashing through the thick foliage. One intriguing red mark could allude to the last of the nocturnal creatures taking to their daytime shelter as the night recedes.
Diana Palmer enjoys capturing the moment when colour seeps back into the scene as the sun comes up and eyes adjust to the gloom. The patch of blue sky provides some breathing space above the dense foliage and hints at the new day to come.
Diana is also exhibiting Cornus in The Spring Auction.
