Notes

The bay of Rackwick is bounded on both sides by 200-metre-high cliffs. This view captures a cloud formation falling from the high plateau towards the sea. The sun in the south is shining towards us, illuminating through the clouds.

World renowned architect Ian McChesney experiments with both painting and public art installations. He has been commissioned by the UK’s most prominent landowners, architects, local authorities and developers. These include Chatsworth House, Argent, Derwent London, The Crown Estate and the King’s Cross Partnership.

Ian McChesney is best known for his public sculptures but drawing and painting have always occurred in parallel. Recent work is inspired by expeditions to rugged places which have led to a series of painterly semi-abstract paintings.
