Notes
The Steen mountains in Oregon are famous for their wild horses, as seen in this landscape by fine-art photographer Christine Flynn.
Christine composes images that hinge on nostalgia to evoke an emotional reaction from the viewer. Her approach is a reaction to travel photography and Instagram updates, two genres she believes are designed to create envy. Instead she allows the viewer to access a feeling of recognition or belonging in a place they’ve never been.
Christine Fylnn lives and works in Toronto working in photography and mixed media. She creates photographs with the texture of painting by applying abstract elements of paint and gold leaf to her printed images, before coating them with a high-gloss resin.
