Notes
This geometric bust was made in a traditional Yorkshire foundry using recycled cast iron.
London-based sculptor, Rory Menage, combines his deep understanding of art history and figurative sculpture with contemporary techniques. He uses 3D modelling and innovative casting methods to produce pieces that are both modern and timeless.
In Turned Head III, Rory uses angular planes to create a simplified, abstract form. At the same time, an elegant tilt of the head subtly implies that the figure is in motion.
The work was created in a traditional iron foundry in West Yorkshire. It used reclaimed cast iron to create a unique raw and exposed texture.
