Sir Peter Blake CBE RDI RA, is a pioneer of British Pop Art and best known for his creating the artwork for the Beatles' 1967 album Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

His iconic artworks include imagery from adverts and popular culture, often produced as a collage. This print brings together is an example of this and brings together his collected mementos: tickets, driftwood, pebbles and syca­more leaves, evocative and ephemeral souvenirs, gathered at the time of his walks through the Tulleries gardens in Paris. 

Peter Blake became a Royal Academician in 1981 and was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1983. He was knighted in 2002.
