Notes

John Taylor applies multiple layers of paint to his work before sanding down the surface to expose previous iterations. He concludes the process by introducing collage, as seen in the contrasting yellow and red elements in Scheme of Work.

Painted in 2015, this was the artist's first use of collage. It signals the beginning of an ongoing body of work where collage takes centre stage, as seen with an other artwork by John in the auction - Confirmed Issue

Accolades

John Taylor trained at Central St Martin's College. He was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship by the British Council to live in the USA lecturing on the value of art as a multicultural tool in global education.
