Notes
Norman Ackroyd CBE RA, is regarded as one of Britain’s most celebrated printmakers and landscape artists.
Born in Leeds he trained under leading printmaker Julian Trevelyan at the Leeds College of Art from 1957 to 1961. Rising to fame with solo and group exhibitions across the world, Norman became a Royal Academician in 1988 and was made Senior Fellow, Royal College of Art in 2000.
‘Lakeside, Winter’ is typical of Ackroyd’s atmospheric use of aquatint and his exploration of immediacy in the landscape.
