Notes
Mimicking the visual language of the seventies and presented in the square format of a vinyl cover, this screen print is a joyful celebration of Disco and Funk.
This screen print is one of a series of Disco inspired artworks. Oli Fowler has collected Disco and Funk vinyl since an early age, an obsession begun by his parents. He explains, "I often explore my childhood and show it in my art work and this new piece of artwork is a representation of that."
His dynamic, sometimes abstract, compositions are characterised by their use of collage scrap book style cut outs, photographed textures, solid spot colours and pure CMYK 4 colour process printing methods.
He values experimentation from the earliest stages of work allowing for chance and deliberate mistakes to give direction for the finished piece
Specialising in screen-printing and illustration, Oli’s artistic practice spans across various forms of graphic art and design, including printmaking, illustration, photography, and photomontage. He often combines these different mediums in his creative process.
