Notes

In Building 4, Matthew Misfud's education in the sciences has led to a discrete and considered approach to the geometric abstraction of this architectural study.

In this work, Matthew went about the process of removing aspects of the study until the mere shape of the building was constructed of just two colours. Inspired by the Mediterranean summers in Malta, the painting evokes notions of airiness reinforced by a predominant aquagreen and white that runs through the work.

Maltese born Matthew first studied Chemistry and Biology before completing his Masters in Creative Advertising at the University of Edinburgh. After stints in advertising and the Royal National Theatre, Matthew sought creative exploration through his own works of art.
