Susan Vera Clarke steps away from the stereotype that's normally associated with Etching and finds the true impression from her matrix, the plate.

With a central focus on Etching, Susan explores the boundaries of intaglio techniques and challenges what we traditionally considered to be a ‘print’. She adopts a playful use of colour, stencil and other more conventional etching steps to draw her image and through this allows the method to dictate the aesthetic of each edition. 

Susan Vera Clarke is a British artist who lives and works in East London. 

Accolades

Bachelors in Fine Art and Masters in Contemporary Fine Art Practice from Falmouth University College. 

Susan manages East London Printmakers, a community interested, not-for-profit printmaking studio called where she is responsible for overseeing the running of the studio and teaching on their program of beginner and intermediate courses. Susan supports/collaborates with other artists on Print based projects which in the past have included; Illustrator Ellie Curtis, Artist Nicole Polonsky and Designer Ella Doran.
