A cool depiction of an Italian bay captured in gouache. "Paraggi is a drawing that was painted from life in Paraggi, Liguria, in Italy. I spent a few days there in winter by myself because I was really determined to draw from life. I think painting from life is one of the most inspiring ways of making work for me. After four days I couldn’t finish the piece so I completed it back in Milan at my studio."
Clara Rubin’s still life paintings explore inherently Italian scenes, domestic settings, and the every-day intimacy of the home. Clara lives and works in Milan.
