Jim French’s work has been hailed as iconic and groundbreaking. He is best known for his association with Colt Studio as founder and photographer of the Colt brand, using the pseudonym Rip Colt. French’s legacy of homoerotic images in artwork, illustrations, photo sets, slides, film, fineart photographs, magazines, books and calendars set a new standard in photography of men. His most famous artwork Two Cowboys rose to fame over a controversy after his work was used without consent on a t-shirt which became subject to a police investigation for violating public decency.
This piece shows the beauty of the male physique and is an iconic piece of his work.
