Notes
Coral Brookes (b.1995, Shropshire) is an artist and educator based in Glasgow. Using 2D and 3D modes, the work playfully visualises physical and emotional relationships between real and imagined landscapes. The work aims to be slippery, alluding to solitude, connection and confusion through forms which seem fleeting, fluid and in flux: from half-formed insects, wonky infrastructure to abstracted bodies situated in spaces. Recent exhibitions include Bladderwrack at Crownpoint Studios, Glasgow (2022), The Open, Turner Contemporary (2021), Prestwick, New Glasgow Society (2021). In 2018 she was an associate at Open School East. She pursued a residency at Scottish Sculpture Workshop in 2019 and in 2017 graduated from Goldsmiths, University of London.
