Drawing from the series Sorry that I crashed your party created in 2021 in Deptford, featuring gestural drawings on textured surfaced, made by drawing into a built-up layers of wax and mixture of pigments.
The title refers to personal circumstances of blending into a new but already known environment and rooting into an existing community.
Karolina Glusiec is a multidisciplinary artist based in Deptford, south-east London, whose practice emerges from drawing and animation branching out into mixed media, structural and site specific objects and artworks. She is a prolific drawer, viewing drawing as a gestural non-verbal way of communication.
Her artworks are often inspired by the most overlooked and unimportant, imperfect and ever too obvious to be noticed everyday life man-made surfaces and by human emotions often hidden beneath other layers of feelings that are shown to cover them.
