Burnt Umber Morning is a response to the low, almost sepia, light one encounters on a late autumn/ early winter morning in the UK. It is a gentle light, where the sun is a dull softness under clouds covering the sky. The earth tones of fields and naked trees gives the world a quietness. You are the only one out walking and the sky presses close to you as though leaning in to hear your thoughts.
