Studio Sale | Aimie Herbert

Aimie is a painter living in Brighton. After receiving her BA from the University of Brighton, she participated in two artist residency programs: Organhaus Art Space, Chongqing, China (Jan- March 2015), (July 2013) and Konstepidemin, Gothenburg, Sweden 2017.  Aimie has exhibited her works internationally, both in England and China. 

Aimies work currently explores the relationship between the affective embrace of the world we see and our continuous stream of consciousness. Themes of memory, movement, cognitive process and repetition, mostly taken from thoughts evoked while viewing varying natural and concrete landscapes, resonates throughout her work. Working almost exclusively with oil paint and a dark, muted color palette, her painting validates imagery, colour, shape and texture as a consolidated form of expression.
