Spring Clean for War Child

The original single cover artwork from What the World Needs Now is Love record, signed by Jack Savoretti, Katherine Jenkins and David Downton.

Renowned singer-songwriter Jack Savoretti and mezzo-soprano classical superstar Katherine Jenkins joined forces in December 2023 to release new single ‘What The World Needs Now Is Love’, via War Child Records. Designed by David Downton, this lot includes the original artwork used for the single cover.

With Jack inviting Katherine to create this special recording in aid of War Child, the track combines Jack’s soulful tones with Katherine’s soaring vocals to demonstrate a simple yet much needed message - the world needs more love, for everyone. Originally performed by Jackie DeShannon in 1965, the lyrics remain just as valid and poignant in the present day. The release of the track reinforces War Child’s mission statement of using music as a force for good.

Over the last decade, David Downton has established a reputation as one of the world’s leading fashion artists. His classically elegant, yet highly contemporary images have been a key factor in the revival of interest in the tradition of fashion illustration and David is a worthy successor to the great artists in his field including Gruau, Eric and Antonio.
