“Scouts  was made directly in response to All Mouth Gallery’s request for the submission of tiny works for this auction. I wanted to produce something that, although necessarily small, felt intrinsically expansive – both in content and name. Depicted are two figures under a starry sky, striding west across a plain, a solitary tree between them with hills in the distant. They’re scouting." - Rob Lyon, 2021

Rob Lyon is self-taught, having exhibited regularly since 2015, with works held in private collections. Rooted in landscape and figuration, his practice draws on the conflict of belonging and alienation in the countryside, with its promise of an indifferent beauty, communion, yet quiet threat.
