Notes
Azure Light (like Sea Anemones) is from a series of ‘underwater’ abstract paintings by the Dorset based artist Gerry Dudgeon.
Inspired by the colours and textures beneath the surface of the Aegean Sea, the Camberwell School of Art alumni produced a series of work that captures the rich blues and flickering light in the Mediterranean water around the Greek Islands of Tilos and Amorgos.
A bright burst of white acrylic on the canvas cuts through the many shades of blue, emulating the Greek sun breaking through the surface of the water into the rich underwater scene.
