Rebuilding Beirut with Pride
10 OCTOBER 2021 - 30 OCTOBER 2021Notes
Nina Silverberg’s work explores ideas of isolation, illness and the relationship of the inside/outside. Working mostly in oils, she pays particular attention to the edges of paint where order dissolves and inner and outer meet. These physical boundaries are manifested through the main subject of her work, such as architectural structures, houses and windows. Her latest series is comprised of images of simplified solitary bed frames. Her practice lies between abstraction and figuration and is governed by a muted palette, which provides the work with a quiet energy.
Nina was born in Rome, Italy and currently lives and works in London, in 2018 she graduated with her BA in Fine Art from City and Guilds of London Art School. Her recent shows include her solo show ‘Once I Dreamt of a Nest’ with Creekside Artists in London in 2020 and ‘Framed’ in Somerset in 2021.
