“These two paintings are part of a larger project called ‘Carnival: fragments’ in which I explore the tricky space of the ‘in-between.’ We’re so used to seeing the ‘before’ and ‘after,’ the backstory and the result — but not the actual moment when the odd and the bizarre walk free. Suspense, paradoxy, and timelines collide in this universe, granting liberation to both the participants and viewers.”
