RABOTA: Auction 2 – 15 Works by 15 Russian Contemporary Artists
24 OCTOBER 2021 - 15 NOVEMBER 2021Notes
“The watermelon is a symbol of the passing summer in Russia. During the summer, watermelons are expensive but by September the prices start to drop and the fruit becomes very cheap. At this point, most people can afford watermelon but no one buys it because summer has passed and the temperature is 10 degrees. No one eats watermelon in the cold and a couple of weeks later they have vanished from supermarket shelves. Winter is just around the corner."
