“My piece is inspired by a photo I took this year in July of the view down to Combesgate; the contrast between the flame red Crocosmia and the brilliant blues of the sea and sky was so joyful I wanted to capture that in my painting. Around that time I'd been thinking a lot about how I'd like to start capturing coastal views and florals together so stumbling across this view felt like it was meant to be.

For me personally nature is my grounding, my inspiration and my greatest source of peace. I have the kind of buzzing mind that needs that escape for me to function at my best; long walks, sea swims, forest bathing. The work that Plastic Free North Devon do to protect our natural environment is so crucial; not only to preserve this precious area of the country that we all benefit so much from but also to address wider environmental issues and the future of our planet.”
