MoCP - Darkroom 2023

This portrait sitting is for one individual and includes a 20x24 inch print at Sandro Miller’s studio in Chicago along with three signed books from Sandro.  The session lasts about three hours and includes hair and makeup  stylist with a pre-discussion about wardrobe.  

An accomplished commercial photographer, Sandro was inspired at a young age by the work of Irving Penn. After starting his career in 1980 as an assistant to photographer David Deahl, Sandro began his own practice, and he has since pursued a particular interest in photographing people. He has photographed countless national advertising campaigns for Nike, Budweiser, Nikon, and other clients. He has also created individual portraits of many celebrities, including John Malkovich, Gary Sinise, Michael Jordan, and Dwayne Wade. Although he often relies on extensive research to prepare for a shoot and he maintains a sophisticated level of control over the lighting, Sandro takes a fluid approach to portraiture, responding attentively to his subjects rather than orchestrating preconceived staging.
