Notes

Maija Lassila is Finnish artist, painting her observations of being inside the world. For Lassila, painting allows her to look for an experience that hides behind words and the surface. In her colorist paintings that derive from her own experiences of nature, the world is animistic and alive, something where a consciousness is shared with other living beings. Lassila paints with oil and different kinds of tempera, mixing paint with pastel, oil and wax chalks. Lassila graduated from Finland's Academy of Fine Arts, Uniarts Helsinki in 2018.
