Life on Venus II | The Human, Live Auction
27 JANUARY 2021Notes
Often drawn to analogue publications and printed matter by their physical presence and pre-digital imagery, my work allows the artefacts and related imagery to lead the formation of works. Drawing upon figuration, landscape and cultivation, my work manifests itself through collage and sculpture, creating a new set of suggested narratives. Small scale details from the pages become monstrous through enlargement and coupled with industrial remnants, such as hooks, clamps, reels and wrapping. Commodification of the female body is explored through combination of image and objects. Often layered, punctured, stitched and assembled to emphasise surface and tactility, my work aims to elicit a physical reaction from the viewer.
