Notes
Performance and visual artist Olivia Norris created this multilayered, multicoloured work for Wovoka Gentle's EP Start Clanging Cymbals.
"I listened to the album on full volume, thinking about the layers and layers of sounds they put into their tracks, focusing on trying to translate the blend of found sounds and digital distortions."
Olivia Norris describes her painting, film and performance work as exploring embodiment, contemporary femininity and vulnerability.
Olivia Norris's visual work for Wovoka reflects her hypnotic, distorted performances. As Stasis, she performs with Aniela Piasecka, Isabel Palmstierna and Paloma Proudfoot. They have performed at BALTIC39 in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, alongside Marvin Gaye Chetwynd at the cult London concert venue Koko as part of DRAF’s 10th Anniversary Party during Frieze London, and further afield in an abandoned club with artist collective ‘No Hay Asasino’ in Madrid and fashion boutique Marselleria in Milan with visual artist Dafne Boggeri.
