Notes

The original image of Hayden Thorpe's 2019 album Diviner photographed by internationally renowned artist Oliver Chanarin.

Hayden Thorpe describes the background to this artwork:

"My good friend Oliver Chanarin and I had been talking about making work together for years. When it came to the day of the shoot I was riding my bike beside the canal toward Olly’s studio when I fell off in spectacular fashion. Miraculously there wasn’t a scuff on me but for a neat trace of blood under my index finger- the pointer, the diviner. I arrived at the studio and we immediately began shooting."

Diviner is the first solo release of Hayden Thorpe, formally led signer of the band Wild Beasts.

Oliver Chanarin works in collaboration with Adam Broomberg as Broomberg and Chanarin. Together they are professors of photography at the Hochschule für bildende Künste (HFBK) in Hamburg and teach on the MA Photography & Society programme at The Royal Academy of Art (KABK), The Hague which they co-designed.
