Notes
I never have time for art, there is always something going on. Art is a rush, squeezed between life commitments. So art needs to be quick, expressive, immediate, hurried. There is no time for art but art is always there, it never leaves and buzzes you when you finally have time to sit and think. And art then becomes a remembered glance, of something I’ve seen in a hurry and not had time to look closely. It is an interpretation of a brief visual memory. My art is fast, rushed, pushed – hastily made…with love. I wish I had more time for art.
I am a Scottish artist from Edinburgh, now based in the Scottish Borders,. Practice is predominantly landscape drawing and painting, and illustration. I have been a practising artist since 2009 after a long break from painting through the 1990’s and early 2000’s when creative output was mainly drawing, photography and restoration.
