The work “Calligraph Form” is Murphy's drawing response to 'Writing piece- hand, 1978' by Anthony Caro. This piece was shown alongside the Caro sculpture as part of the “Parallel lines: Drawing and Sculpture” exhibition.

About the Artist

Nathan Murphy studied BA (Hons) Contemporary Art Practice at the University of Leeds, Bretton Hall and furthered his education in a Masters of Fine Art (MA) at Wimbledon College of Art. In 2014, he was elected by the RBS sculpture council as an artist member of the Royal Society of British Sculptors.

He is a sculptor whose work focuses on participatory experiences of the viewer through sculptural installations with main interests in site specific work, Modernist sculptural language, architectonic and Geometric form.
