Gerald Mak is an artist based in London. He recently completed his MA in Ceramics and Glass at Royal College of Art in 2020.

Working with clay has provided Gerald a tangible way to reflect on his evolving experiences and relationships. He often looks into his cultural heritage, especially crafted objects within the traditional Chinese scholar settings like table screens for references of sculptural forms. His body of works take the form of vessels, sculptures and wall panels.

The work in this submission stems from his interest in furniture made in clay. They are maquettes for speculative larger sculptures.
