CAMPO Benefit Auction 2023
14 DECEMBER 2023 - 29 DECEMBER 2023Notes
Artwork Description
In the backyard of my grandparents' house, there were two plum trees, one white and the other red. In 2009, my grandfather passed away, and that same winter, the white plum tree in the house died. 'Leonor Carlota's Nap' portrays the red plum tree from my grandmother Leonor's house. The drawings are sgraffito; scratching the gold leaf to reveal the underlying red paint. The series was presented in the summer of 2016 at the Kavlin Cultural Center.
