Bid the Gap

Introducing Henry Glover
In 2020, Henry Glover was awarded the prestigious Saatchi Art ‘Rising Star’ award, a testament to his immense talent and promise. The award recognised him as one of the top 35 artists globally under the age of 35, highlighting his remarkable abilities as both an oil painter and a ceramicist.
Drawing inspiration from the early Mediaeval period, Antiquity, folklore, and myths, Glover imbues his subjects with a sense of history and drama. However, he does not simply recreate the past; instead, he skillfully transforms it into our contemporary everyday. By employing iconography and incorporating his own motifs, Glover finds a freedom of expression that resonates with viewers. His works are often characterised by rich backgrounds and romantic contexts, evoking a sense of enchantment, loneliness and wonder.
Bid the Gap is proud to present Henry Glover as an artist whose work pushes boundaries, leaving an indelible mark on the art world and touching the hearts of those who encounter it.
