Ellie MacGarry was born in Cambridge, UK in 1991 and now lives and works in London, UK. She has a BA in Fine Art from the University of Leeds and an MFA in painting at the Slade School of Fine Art. After graduating from the Slade in 2018 she undertook a residency at the Academy of Visual Arts in Hong Kong. Recent exhibitions include ‘Your Hand is a Warm Stone’ at Steve Turner LA (2021), ‘Untitled (But Loved)’ at Bosse and Baum (2020), ‘Come Undone’ at Daniel Benjamin Gallery (2019), ‘I know that you know’ at Wells Projects (2019), and ‘In Hiding’ at the Academy of Visual Arts Gallery, Hong Kong (2018). She will have a solo exhibition at Steve Turner LA in November 2021.
