About
David Ryan is a painter based in London. He has exhibited internationally and been the recipient of numerous awards throughout his career. His work is abstract and based around the interaction of numerous simple forms within the picture plane/format. He is also active as a musician and the paintings have a connection with notation and resonance.

These small works explore a kind of notation existing somewhere between a diagram and free drawing. Generally, the works explore a dynamic between stasis and movement, and colour and line. Each work can be seen as setting up its own world of interactions
