About

Liam White is a recent BA (Hons) Photography graduate from the University of Huddersfield. Achieving a First Class classification, White also received recognition from the institution in being granted the Dean's Award for Academic Research.

Specialising in the documentation and/or decontextualization of existing online content, he is often drawn to social media platforms for subculture investigation.

As of September 2021, White is currently studying towards his Masters in Photography. With this, he continues to broaden his understanding of the philosophical, political and psychological reasoning behind internet identity formation.

A documentation of Omegle webcam encounters for the BLM, LGBT and TRUMP interests.

Omegle is a free online platform which allows anyone over the age of 13 to converse with strangers across the world, without the need for registration. Amongst the website, users can filter the people they interact with by common concerns, such as TV shows, musicians, or in the case of these three assemblages; a movement, group and party leader. Comprising of both live feed and pre-uploaded miscellaneous imagery, the archive includes the profiles of the solely anonymous.

As a collection of 750 screengrabs and 50 message accounts taken from January - April 2021, the material operates as a united outlook; simultaneously addressing our expressions within an emerging virtual public sphere.
