About
I am a German artist currently living in Frankfurt/M. My work as a painter revolves around human visions, longings and emotions in past and presence in an abstract way. I search for freedom, liveliness and intensity in my paintings taking up human experiences like happiness or despair, longing or anger. I have an intense relation with colour: I love to dive deep into colour thus feeling its sensual effect and its emotional charge. My paintings open a space for associations, memories and new experiences.
Education
I studied Fine Arts in Kassel/Germany

Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork
The four artworks (oils, acrylic marker and pencils on paper) deal with playfulness, as the title states. Playfulness is a state of mind where everything goes with ease and flows by itself. Children are our teacher. As grown-ups we have unlearned to be playful. But as an artist playfulness is a very important quality for my work. Art happens, it is not something I can 'do'. Of course, knowledge and experience are important - but then for me making art is the process of letting go and emptying the mind. So these four little works have been created in this state of mind!
