About
Marina works across multi disciplines, drawing, oil painting and performance. Her background in dance and physical theatre allows for a sensitivity and innate interest towards the expression of the body and its movement. She has become increasingly interested in developing ways of combining performance and theatre with drawing and visual mediums. Combining classical figurative drawing, with movement and gesture, she responds directly to live theatre, most recently MACBETH, to create a physical record of the performance that encapsulates the energy of the show. She then takes these to her studio in North London, to develop, work from and expand.
In the process of creation, there is a constant dialog between materials and ideas; an expansion and contraction that is playful and fluid, and evolves during the making.
