Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork
Reflecting hauntological themes, Junyi Lu's submitted work represents an escapist yearning for a fantasised home. Personal symbols in her work explore childhood memories, desires, and vulnerabilities, carrying a sense of collective unsettlement towards a lost future. Oscillating between reality and imagination, the imagery provokes mobile associations and intensified emotional responses.
