Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork   

I mainly paint still-lifes and I've painted these particular scissors a few times over the years. 

The drawing is a detail from a painting by one of the Le Nain brothers. I draw for an hour or more each morning before painting to get my eye 'in'.
