Douglas Portway (1922 – 1993) moved from South Africa to St Ives, Cornwall in 1957. He became part of the British abstract movement, associating with artists such as Ben Nicholson, Peter Lanyon and Patrick Heron. His work is held in many collections including Tate, the V&A Museum and the Scottish Gallery of Modern Art.
Artwork in good condition. Retain in frame for stability of paper, some rippling with age.
