Notes

‘CRISTHIAN & WAYNE  was made in my New York studio, it is based on a photograph of my friends who were deeply in love at the time and they posed for me. On the day of the photoshoot, we spent a lovely and seemingly endless time picnicking in a botanical park, making art and cooking dinner together.’ – Nadine Faraj

Nadine Faraj paints sexualized figures in varying degrees of abstraction. Her fluid style allows her figures to emerge as deeply psychological and emotional beings, with a full sense of their humanity. Recently, her works have addressed issues of human rights, LGBTQI activism, feminisms and sex and body positivity.

Nadine Faraj is a painter based in New York making watercolours with raunchiness, humour, tenderness and soul based. She completed her MFA at the School of Visual Arts in New York (2015) and her BFA at Concordia University in Montreal (2002). Her work has been exhibited in group and solo shows in New York, Montreal, London and the UAE. Faraj is represented by Anna Zorina Gallery in New York and McBride Contemporain in Montréal.
